Instagram Landing Page 2019

Instagram is the hottest social network for marketers, photographers, and artists alike, but it does has one major flaw: unless you're running an ad, you can't add links to your Instagram posts!

This has infuriated social media managers over the years, but the network shows no signs of budging.

And this is understandable: the network has long wanted to stay content-first, marketing second. So with that, the company has either neglected to add or been late to add features loved by marketers on other platforms—like links.

But as you probably know, the lack of links hasn't stopped marketers from embracing the network.

Marketers have just taken a different approach: instead of linking to one product in each post, they've created one landing page for all of their products (or blog posts) and linked to it directly in their Instagram profile.

These pages are harder to make than you may think, though.

Instagram landing pages have to be ultra engaging, and really sell your products. After all, it's the one link you get on the social network.

But if you're struggling to make a solid landing page for your Instagram account, don't fret! Because in this article, we'll give you 8 tips for making engaging Instagram pages for better returns.

Many of these tips work for standard Instagram posts and Instagram ads, so keep them in mind when making your next Instagram ad campaign too.

Ready? Let's dive in!

First, have a mission in mind

First thing's first: your brand needs to have a goal or mission in mind before creating a landing page.

Determine what you're trying to sell, or the content you're trying to push before creating your page.

The landing page can be part of a larger marketing campaign, or a one-off to test interest. But whatever it is, make sure you think through the mission completely before putting time and effort into the landing page.

Add a call-to-action to your Instagram posts

Add call-to-actions to your Instagram posts

Here's another basic (but easy to forget) one: make sure your audience knows that you have a landing page!

Since you can't add a link directly to the post, add a call-to-action to each of your posts. A simple "click the link in our bio!" works well—just make sure to curate the message to your audience.

Note that this doesn't apply to Instagram ads as you can link directly to your products.

Make your landing page scannable

Make your landing pages easily scannable

Let's be real: people don't read landing pages. So with that in mind, make sure your landing page is scannable and easy on the text.

It's better to use less words to send a clear message than trying to persuade your audience to buy your products with a wall of text. Use big headers, short blocks of text, and images when possible, keeping the focus of your readers.

Put your products or content front-and-center

In addition, put your products front-and-center on your landing page—preferably before the "fold." The more your audience has to scroll down the page, the less likely they are to actually click on your products and buy them.

Use an awesome page builder to save time

Don't have coding skills? No worries: just use an Instagram landing page builder.

This ensures your pages are up to technical and design spec, and will save you a ton of time and money over hiring a developer or learning how to code it on your own.

Some of the best page builders include Instapage, Unbounce, and Leadpages.

Always a/b test your pages

Don't just make one Instagram landing page: make a few, and a/b test them. Change out the link in your profile weekly, and don't be afraid to use different landing pages for each of your ads.

Then, run analytics on each of these pages and compare which is best for your audience. You'll quickly find what works and what doesn't, making your landing pages more valuable than ever.

Add customer reviews and testimonials

Add reviews to your pages

Have awesome testimonials or customer reviews? Show them off on your landing page.

According to the folks at BigCommerce, products with positive reviews or testimonials get a whopping 72% of consumers say testimonials make them trust a business more.

Use this to your advantage, and embed positive reviews right on your landing page. This lets you filter out the best reviews, and show your customers that your product is loved by customers everywhere.

Offer a discount or promo code

Discounts, freebies, and promo codes are awesome ways to drive sales by creating FOMO (fear of missing out).

On each of your landing pages, create different promo code or coupon that's specific to that landing page. Then, add an expiration date and put emphasis on the fact that your promo is for a limited time only.

This will push your audience to buy your products right away, rather than waiting to purchase later down the line (and probably forgetting).

Now, promote your products!

And there you have it: ten tips for optimizing your Instagram landing pages. Equipped with this information, you can make better landing pages that convert.
